The 38 Bach Flower Remedies are a self-help collection of tinctures based on the premise that emotional support is a simple and good thing and that you can know your own mind and select remedies that will help you, all by yourself. These remedies are not intended to replace your other means of mental and emotional support, such as psychotherapy, but simply be an adjunct help. They were discovered in the 1920s to 1930s by Dr. Edward Bach, a prominent bacteriologist, physician and pathologist in London, England. While serving in World War II, he noticed how patient attitudes had an effect on their recoveries. It's common sense: negative emotions aren't good for you. Because he reasoned that emotional healing should have a ripple effect on the rest of your life, he came up with 38 remedies associated with basic human emotions.
