Homeopathy is a safe and natural therapeutic system of healing. It is a complimentary wellness practice that offers affordable, natural substances ("remedies") in small doses to support well-being. Homeopathy should not be confused with herbal medicine, nutritional therapy, or any other practice. It is a distinct and integral system, unto itself, with a set of guiding principles. The North American Society of Homeopaths calls it an "advanced, effective, and gentle system of holistic medicine that has been successfully used and on every continent." Homeopathic treatment is intended to support a body as it works to restore balance and harmony, stimulating your own innate healing response.
In Classical Homeopathy, one remedy is used at a time in the minimum dose to coax this response. Classical homeopathy is an individualized practice that considers the whole person holistically, including symptoms, unique life history, and current condition and circumstances, then selecting a single, personalized remedy to match.
The minimum dose is surprising, and it's a stumbling block to acceptance, even when explained well. Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of Classical Homeopathy, noticed something that was peculiarly helpful: a repeated process of shaking and dilution rendered the medicine more potent. Because of what he called a dynamization effect, substances that would be hazardous in material doses could now be given without risk. Because of the extreme dilution, there is no fear of harm from the original substance. Homeopathic remedies, which may originally derive from herbs, minerals, animal products, arrive in infinitesimal doses. As such, homeopathy may be safely combined with prescription medicines of all kinds without danger. The good news is that everyone – critics and proponents alike – agree it won't hurt you. Critics who say there's nothing there are usually BIOCHEMICAL experts, whereas Homeopathy is based on BIOENERGY. There has been a significant body of research proving homeopathy's efficacy.
